Solo exhibition Digging at Tata bookshop - a modular playground for signal I put together in a little book store attic.
The system includes 6 handmade adapters, handmade cables, a piece of wire that runs through a stack of books with a dictionary laid open at the top. A flask drips water onto the wires protruding from the dictionary, connecting the signal via the dampness of the page.
The adapters say “thank you for this beautiful picture” in Japanese. My mom used to write on the jars she’d pickle plums in, something like “thank you for becoming delicious :)”
This was a fully functional system. Handmade HDMI adapters and cables made using copper wire, HD26 connectors, individual D sub pins, tinned aluminum wire, and resin.
